Some articles are getting loaded up with many photos, for example there are currently 97 photos on the Venice article, but very few photos for articles on specific places and buildings in Venice.
So, I'm suggesting that it would be good to try to put photos under more specific articles, where they'll probably get better exposure as well, and be more useful from a reference point of view.

I cannot agree more...
Coming back on this again, what is the point to post a picture in the "Flower" encyclopedia article, where there are already hundreds of entries, if you do not post it first in the specific article for this flower? Then yes, if it is a fantastic flower picture, you may post it as well in "Flower". Others can even do it for you when they notice it in the specific article and like it a lot. But avoid doing it the other way around if you want your contribution to be really useful for other encyclopedia visitors an contributors. What is true for "Flower" is true for many generic articles like "Mountain", "France", "Venice", .... let's not even speak about "Cat" or "Dog" :)
Recently, I have opened some new articles like Candomblé, Batucada, Bureaucracy, Playground slide, Musée du quai Branly, Corkscrew, Earthquake, Slidewalk café, Man, Birthday cake, etc. At some articles I nominated personal photos, others ones photos from Flickr.
There are many others interesting subjects we can do!
