Beta: new community page

Hi everyone,

Fotopedia community is really strong, and we always try to give you more tools so that you can build the encyclopedia, discover the latest photos that have been added to articles, and also meet new Fotopedians.

Today, we want to introduce our new beta Community Page. We know that many of you are using the existing community page to stay up-to-date with what's happening on Fotopedia, and we wanted to give you more of this.

On this new community page you will be able to: 

  • view new photos nominated in articles
  • discover articles that need votes
  • see featured photographer and featured curator
  • and a lot more...

Community > Articles

In the articles section, you will be able to browse articles in the encyclopedia with the following filters:
  • new articles
  • articles that need votes
  • articles with the most featured photos
  • articles with the most voted photos 
  • articles with the most nominated photos
And for each filter, you can choose the time period between today, this week, this month, this year and all time.

Community > Users

users.jpg

In the users section, you will be able to see user rankings by:
  • reputation
  • votes
  • nominations
  • featured photos. 

And you can select the time period as for articles.

Beta: we value your feedback

Of course, this community page is in Beta, and we will add more features soon, or refine what's not clear enough for you. 

As always, we appreciate your feedback.

I just had a quick look... looks great! This is will be very useful to identify articles and photos that require votes. I hope I'll have some time this weekend to explore these new features in more detail.

Nice community page. The link from the new Photos to the articles they are in doesn't work on my iPad. Another iPad functionality thing: i can only add four pictures to articles. After that there is the message that I can add one more photo, but in fact I'm not able to select one.

Projects are available using the search function. A new way to acceed to projects will be available in the futur.

Hi everyone. I found the new interface great. What do you think in having a second line of pictures bellow the "new photos" showing the new voted photos, or photos score doubled, or new featured photo. Just because sometime you discover a nice photo somewhere and you can't promote it also if you vote for it! And I  see that most of the photos sticks during month at the same level (mainly 5) after being featured. I think we give too much visibility to "new photos" and not enough to "already featured photos" which are most of the time much nicer. All the best to the fotopedia team.

@Jean Christophe : thank you for your feedback. We are planning to add a "Photos"' section to the community page, so that you can browse the community by articles, users, bu also most important, by photos!
