Voted up photo is unfeatured

Hi, I voted up photo and I loose 2 points...? Why ?!!! I don't understand the rules... Explain me please..

Hello Helene. 

All reputation rules are available here. In your case, as the photo you voted up is unfeatured, you loose the points you got when the photo got featured (+2).

On each reputation event, click on "why?" to get a full explanation of it : Shades.jpg

So, if I understand correctly, I should not vote for pictures that are featured, as they can possibly unfeatured... It is a strange rule. And by the way, why the photo got unfeatured?

If you vote on a photo that later get featured, you get points. If the photo is unfeatured, you lost the points you get. A lot of photos are featured and stay featured a long time. Also, featuring is made by our editors, and a photo can get unfeatured if better images are nominated in the article.
