I have been working with the client for several weeks and have the following ideas for enhancement:
1. Add a messaging feature to "MyFollowers" of your albums where you can get feedback from them as a group without having to e-mail each one separately.
2. Integrate a method for quickly searching for existing articles from withhin the client (rather than having to go to an internet browser to check) so that multiple articles on the same topic can be avoided more readily. This should be included on the "Photopedia" main page.
3. Add a reminder to people to title their photos (and make comments) when the are submitted so that they are more easily found on a search. Also, add a tab of "advice" on titling and commenting.
4. Make it easier for users to compile "Albums" from existing Articles so that the Albums can also be cited in Wikipedia (I realize that this possible to do now, but it is not that easy since non-authored articles are hard to include in Albums).
5. Create forums for external groups that wish to contribute to Fotopedia--for example photographic societies. I realize it may be possible to do this using external resources like Facebook, but it would be nice to have internal forums named in Fotopedia so that professional societies can direct people to these Forums.
Thanks for considering the above. If I have misunderstood any of the above and they are already implemented, please let me know (sorry, I probably have not learned everything yet).

Thanks for all these suggestions Chris! We actually have a lot of that already. We probably don't advertise it enough.
1. Is possible. In the client, click "New Post" in the discussion column. You can then select who you want to send the message too.
2. You can use the search in the client. It is the same as on the web. And don't worry about creating duplicate articles in Fotopedia, we won't allow that. There is one article for every Wikipedia entry, no possible duplicates.
3. It would be nice to have more good titles and descritpions on photos. Yet for the search we also take into account the articles a photo is in. If you search for photos of Paris you'll find photos that are in the Paris article. But it does make it nicer for the visitor to learn more about photos and have a description.
4. Could you explain this a bit more? I don't get what you want to do.
5. We can do a lot with forums. Yet are not forum builders. If a photographic society wants a forum for its own purpose they can get it elsewhere. Here everybody interested in a topic can build a project around and have its own forum, but we won't close it to members of a specific group. Everyone can contribute to Fotopedia!
Thanks!
Adrian, I recently had trouble with the client and had to unistall it. However, I now cannot manage to download it again, I get a message "'client is no longer supported"'. Is this true, can I no longer use the client to upload? If it is still available, could you post the correct link?
Elaine
Hello Elaine. Adrian is no longer working at Fotopedia, so let me reply to you. A few weeks ago, we stopped supporting the Fotopedia client, and it is now out of date. We decided that current users should be able to use it, but we removed the link for all new users.
To nominate new photos to the encyclopedia and vote on other's photos, please use the Fotopedia website, where our efforts are focused.
Thank you for your understanding
Time to uninstall it then...
@Sandro : you are right. However, the client is still working, but as we are developing the website, it won't have all its features, such as the voting slides for quality and relevancy.
