Why should I use the client?

Before getting started with the client we recommend you use Fotopedia's website for a couple of weeks. It will make it easier for you to understand how the client works and it's possibilities.

The Fotopedia client can be an interesting tool if you recognize yourself in one of the following cases:

  • you want a more powerful experience. The client allows you to move photos around easily, display photos in full screen from anywhere by just pressing the space bar, avoid the upload hassle, discuss and interact in real time with other users.
  • you have many photos to add. With the client the upload will happen in the background. You'll be able to add your photos to articles much faster.
  • your photos are on Picasa or Facebook. These services are integrated in the client so you can get your photos from them with having to upload them again to the web.
  • you want to create your own photo album to display your work or favorite photos in your own space. The client allows you to build complex albums with hierarchy to organize your photos in the way you like the best. You can set the privacy level. The album will have it's own web page you can share with whom you want: a few friends or the Fotopedia community.

What OS does the client run on?

The client works on Windows (XP, Vista, 7) and Mac (OS X 10.4 and higher).
